War of the Formula 1 “Pay Drivers” - Zhou vs Latifi vs Mazepin

It's official, Guanyu Zhou will be racing for Alfa Romeo Racing in 2022, alongside Valtteri Bottas. He'll be the first Chinese driver ever to hold a full seat in Formula 1, and is currently sitting 2nd in the Formula 2 Championship.

Problem is, he's the latest driver to be marked as a "Pay Driver". So I thought I'd look into why, and compare him to the two other most recent pay drivers in Formula 1, Latifi & Mazepin.
