Sensitive partial discharge testing on gas-insulated switchgear with UHF 800

Описание к видео Sensitive partial discharge testing on gas-insulated switchgear with UHF 800

OMICRON’s UHF 800 system ensures sensitive partial discharge measurements on gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). This video shows you how the UHF 800 PD measurement and analysis system is easily set up and used on GIS. UHF 800 measures PD in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) range from 100 to 2000 MHz to greatly minimize or eliminate interference from external noise in the testing environment – this is especially beneficial during onsite PD measurements. UHF 800 can be used for single-channel or synchronous multi-channel offline and online UHF PD testing on GIS.

Conventional on-site PD measurements, such as those specified by the IEC 60270 standard for high-voltage acceptance testing and troubleshooting, are challenging since they are often affected by noise in the surrounding environment. By comparison, PD measurements performed in the UHF range result in a very high signal-to-noise ratio to enable reliable measurement and analysis. This is because numerous sources of noise, such as mobile communications, radar and corona discharges, are transmitted predominantly in lower or quite narrow frequency ranges. UHF PD measurements in GIS therefore ensure optimal sensitivity with little or no interference from external noise.

OMICRON’s UHF 800 system can also be used for sensitive UHF PD measurements on oil-filled power transformers and high-voltage power cable terminations.
