Here we are again with our 4 th episode of “SHARDA TALK” featuring Harshita Gupta speaking on
“IMPACTS OF GRADES ON EDUCATION SYSTEM” a topic which has been a point of discussion since many
years. Harshita tells us how education was not just confined to grades for the previous generation, but
what mattered at that time was the overall improvement in thoughts, ideas and personality of the
individuals which not only converted them into better versions of themselves, but also made them
brave so that they can face their own problems and be a better social citizen. Harshita then talks about
the education system of today where primary importance is given to marks and grades, where what
matters the most is the number of certificates a child has, where a child’s intellect is measured by the
Grades scored. Education system according to Harshita has become so worst and the competition is so
brutal that a child only cares about getting grades, and the overall point of education and basic
fundamental principles of life has lost their meaning. Harshita tells us that, yes grades are important in a
child’s life as they provide a token of appreciation however it is also the main reason for a child’s mental
torture as he is pressurized to continuously improve them. Harshita goes on by saying, due to today’s
education system even teachers and parents pressurize a child to only target for good grades and
because of this they forget to teach a child, a way which will lead him to live a happier life. At the end
Harshita leaves us and the Education system we follow with a question “ARE YOU EDUCATED OR ARE
YOU THE ONE COMPILED WITH CERTIFICATES”….
