Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is more of a history lesson than a movie with something concrete to say. I'm not mad at the lesson, lamba hai thoda, but I'm happy to learn new things??

The most unsatisfactory part of the film though is that the attacks on Nambi Narayanan aren’t fully investigated. Who Framed Nambi? Was it the govt? What was the country so hell bend on self-sabotage? Were there international forces at play? Some hints are dropped about America probably being involved with the fake case, but if so, why did the Kerala govt ACT on the fake charges, and to what end? But without an answer, the story simply absolves Nambi Narayan of all wrongdoing and moves on. Rocketry is an easy-to-watch film that really shines in its more humane moments. For a brief bit, we are introduced to Nambi Narayan’s mean streak, and the monstrous extent to which he’ll go to ensure the job is finished. His later repentance and the very sweet bond with his wife are the heart of the Nambi story, the man behind the genius.
