Solar Light Simulators in the 16S-Series are high-precision turnkey testing light sources for professional and laboratory applications. The 16S-300-009 is a complete light source package for pre-irradiating the PMMA plates used in Broad Spectrum In Vitro testing of sunscreens, as defined by ISO and the FDA.

The emission spectrum follows the latest ISO and FDA guidelines. The Light Source has a 75mm diameter vertical beam, which is large enough to completely irradiate a 2” square molded or sandblasted PMMA plate. Temperature rise of the plate is less than 0.2°C during the entire irradiation. The cycle time for irradiating a plate with 4 MEDs effective dose is only 23 minutes. Dose is measured using the included PMA2101 Series biologically weighted sensor, which follows the Erythema Action Spectrum for effective radiation, as well as the DCS-2 Automated Dose Control System, which ensures that the required dose is delivered to the PMMA plates.

Please note that this 16S-300-009 Simulator is designed with the individual lab user in mind. If your lab application involves high throughput, please ask us about our LS1000-Series Simulators, which can irradiate up to 9 plates simultaneously. We can also offer our state of the art SPF-290AS Sunscreen Protection Factor Analyzer complete with computer, monitor, software, and validation kit, which meets FDA and ISO24443 requirements.

Solar Light Company, Inc. has been recognized worldwide for over 50 years as America's premier manufacturer of precision ultraviolet light sources, solar simulators, and radiometers. Our standard line of UV, visible, and IR radiometers and light meters measure laboratory, industrial, environmental, and health related light levels with NIST traceable accuracy. Column ozone, aerosol, and water vapor thickness measurements, in addition to long-term global ultraviolet radiation studies all over the world are performed using our atmospheric line of instrumentation. Solar Light also provides NIST traceable spectroradiometric analyses, calibrations for light meters and light sources, accelerated ultraviolet radiation degradation testing of materials, and OEM instrumentation and monitors.
