On the 18th of June 1928, Amelia Earhart became the first Woman to cross the Atlantic by plane. These clips are part of a larger Documentary called "The Fist Grand Adventure!" Which you can watch here -    • Видео
She was accompanied by Pilot Wilmer Stultz and Engineer Louis Gordon. She didn't take control of the plane at any point during the flight due to foggy weather, which required experience of instrument only flying, which she, at that time, wasn't yet qualified. She would however, fly the Atlantic solo four years later. The video is in somewhat chronological order, beginning with the Friendship moored to a buoy off the coast of the village of Pwll, two miles from Burry Port.
The final segment is the unveiling of the Amelia Earhart monument in Burry Port in 1930.
It was unveiled by Arthur Whitten Brown, who along with John Alcock became the first to cross the Atlantic by plane in 1919. Brown was living in Swansea, only 15 miles from Burry Port, in 1928 and came to Burry Port on hearing the news of the Friendship's successful flight. Unfortunately he wasn't able to locate the crew to offer his congratulations.
