Alekxandr Mostovoi was one of the classiest and most controversial footballers who played in the Spanish League in the late 90s and early 2000s. He was blessed with incredible technique in addition to a volatile temperament. He has earned 50 caps for Russia and has represented his country at the European Championship and the World Cup. In fact, Mostovoi represented three national teams in his playing career – the Soviet Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Russia – each following a different chapter of his homeland’s history, making him an interesting look at the changing face of Russian football. His spell in Spain makes him undoubtedly one of the idols of the Celta fans.
