An Open Letter to the 2025 NFL Draft Class
From Tracey Suggs, Co-Founder of Protect Your Skull Health & Safety, Former College Athlete
To the future stars of the NFL,
As the lights shine bright, the cameras roll, and your names are called—remember this moment. You’ve reached a milestone that few ever experience. This is a dream realized, and I salute each of you for the sacrifices, discipline, and perseverance it took to reach this point.
But this isn’t just the start of your professional career—it’s the beginning of a much bigger journey.
As a former college football player and now co-founder of Protect Your Skull Health & Safety, I’ve walked in cleats similar to yours. I know the dreams, the adrenaline, the pressure, and the weight of expectations. And while the game has given us so much, I write to remind you of something deeper:
Don't just play the game—elevate your life through it.
Don’t let the game use you—use the game to build your purpose, your platform, and your legacy.
Your talent got you here, but your integrity, discipline, leadership, and character will keep you here—and carry you far beyond the game.
I pray for your health and wholeness, both on and off the field. Play smarter. Play safer. Prioritize your brain and your body—because after the sport, after the game, quality of life matters most.
I pray for your walk with God—may it anchor you when the spotlight fades and sustain you when adversity arises. Keep the faith. Stay grounded in purpose.
I pray for your financial wisdom—may you learn early what it means to be a good steward of your blessings. Invest in knowledge. Surround yourself with those who value your future more than your fame.
I pray that your decisions—on and off the field—reflect the greatness within you. Your name is a brand. Your actions are your legacy. Protect both.
And most importantly, I pray that you become a light in your community, a voice for change, and a symbol of what it looks like to win not just on Sundays—but every day.
Make the most of this moment. Let the game be a stepping stone, not the final destination.
You are more than a draft pick.
You are a leader. A difference-maker. A legacy in the making.
With respect and encouragement,
Tracey Suggs
