South Carolina Legends- Episode 2: The Blue Lady of Leamington Lighthouse

In this episode, Darlington Branch Youth Services Librarian Mrs. Drew meets with Ms. Dee Phillips, Co-Chair of the History Department at the Heritage Library in Hilton Head, SC to learn more about a coastal legend- The Blue Lady.

Said to be the lost spirit of Caroline Fripp, the Blue Lady is a sad spirit who is always said to be seen wearing a flowing blue dress. The spirit can be heard crying and pleading for help near the island's lighthouse where both lighthouse keeper Adam Fripp and his daughter Caroline died during a particularly horrific hurricane back in 1898. Strange sightings and abnormal occurrences have become frequent on the island since that time, with many pointing the finger at Caroline. Join us as we dive deeper into this South Carolina ghost story.
