Now, onto the video.

Most of you who have explored the femoral nerve will straight away figure this one out, as there is one specific and very interesting nerve that descends on the medial thigh and all the way to the top of the medial malleolus.

Yes, the SAPHENOUS nerve 🤩

I mentioned the femoral nerve, because the saphenous nerve is an extension of it, due to it coming off of one of the femoral branches.

The main function of the saphenous nerve is to supply sensory function to the dermatomes of the inner thigh (your adductor area, a little of your inner quad as well) and down the inner knee, wrapping around the bottom of the patella around the patella tendon\ligament and also wrapping slightly posteriorly towards the popliteus.

If you are experiencing any issues with numbness in any of the areas I just mentioned, then we are probably looking at the saphneous nerve.

Now, in the full video which you can watch on youtube, I explain what exactly causes that when it comes to muscular tension. There are obviously other causes such as disk issues, but I have not touched upon them in that video.

I merely wanted to explain which muscles could be causing compression, which would then results in numbness in the areas above.
