Urban explorer documents the abandoned hot spring hotel located on the edge of a cliff that’s now near-fully reclaimed by nature.

Bob Thissen, from Heerlen, The Netherlands, visited the Hachijo Hot Spring Hotel being engulfed by the ferns, moss and greenery.

Located on a Japanese tropical island the tourist destination was once popular for its vantage point overlooking stunning cliffside views.

But since closing more than 20-years-ago after going bankrupt, time and the weather conditions have helped to speed up the hotel’s deterioration.
