Verkada - GC31 cellular gateway unboxing & setup

Verkada's new product line, the GC31 cellular gateway, allows one to gain much needed internet connectivity when only 4G is available. With two SIM slots and an added Verkada SIM, it is a plug & play device that can not only backhaul traffic, but also provide PoE downstream. In the video, I will be unboxing the indoor model, provisioning it into Command.

🗒️ Key main points:

➡️ The cellular gateway comes in two forms, an indoor and an outdoor variant (the latter rated for rough exterior conditions); the indoor version can only get powered by the mains, thus including an AC adapter, while the outdoor one also supports PoE and batter/solar array via terminal blocks

➡️ Each gateway features two SIM slots, working in active/standby, with one already fitted with a removable Verkada SIM (that gives the device the plug & play capability)

➡️ Each gateway features two LAN ports, that can, together, provide 60W of power; it allows not only for Verkada but also 3rd party devices to communicate with the internet
