The Latin League was an alliance of about 30 towns, villages and tribes on the Apennine Peninsula that formed in the 6th century BC. was founded. Around the year 498 B.C. In the 4th century BC, the alliance with the Roman Republic became involved in a war that was probably about overturning the supremacy of the city of Rome. The hostilities essentially consisted of mutual raids. The actual reason that led to the outbreak of open hostilities is not known.
