Brinson Paolini describes the pivot as a load, press, and then turn. The body in the golf swing is the engine, and you should focus on its big muscles. Get into a good golf posture and then spiral up pressure in the trail side while staying on the inside of the trail foot. From there, on the downswing you press into your lead side down into the ground as you're finishing the backswing. Speed and power is generated through ground-reaction forces responding to the press down at the top of the swing.
