Jacobite May 2023

My first visit to the heart of Scotland in the highlands to see West Coast Railway's Jacobite railtour. Something I wanted to go for a very long time, with three LMS black 5's operating over the Spring to Autumn of 2023 over the famous West Highland Extension wasn't to be missed.

Ian Riley's Black 5 duo no.44871 & 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier & Keighley Worth Valley's no.45212 ran over my week up there from 12th - 18th May 2023 although the main film is only on 45407 & 45212 over the 41 mile line.

A few locations on the line was on my bucket list such as Glenfinann Viaduct, Beasdale Bank & Morar.

List of locations:-
45407 - Inverlochy Yard, Inverlochy Bridge, Corpach, Loch Eil Outward Bound, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Beasdale bank & Beasdale station.

45212:- Fort William station, Inverlochy Yard, Glenfinann Summit, Polnish, Arisaig where it passes 45407 on what the only place on the network where two steam locos passes once each other on a timetabled railtour, Morar Viaduct & Morar.

The two class 37's no.37518 & 37668 was around assisting the steam due to dry conditions which only lasted until the 14th May.
