The Minister of Environment, the right honorable Mary Polak is standing behind her people and stating that everything is in order at Shawnigan Lake. All the residents are against a newly approved toxic waste site where there is great danger the contaminants will seep into the watershed over the 20 years with 5,000,000 tons of toxic waste to be put into a mine. The leader of the area, Sonia Furstenau, the CVRD Director, sends a message to the minister asking her to reconsider her position.
