Nationally, the number of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) over the age of 60 is steadily increasing and by 2030, the number of adults with I/DD aged 60 and older is projected to reach 1.2 million people. The physical, cognitive, functional, and behavioral changes that are associated with the aging process typically manifest earlier and in different ways for individuals living with I/DD.These differences may raise unique challenges for clinicians, health plans, and providers who are engaged with individuals with I/DD and their families and caregivers. As a result, there are emerging opportunities for health plans and providers to support aging individuals living with I/DD and their families and caregivers through comprehensive, integrated care that addresses the needs of the whole person across the life span.

During this webinar, speakers shared lessons learned and strategies for providing care for dually eligible individuals with I/DD across the lifespan.
