The Grand Procession of the 94th St. Anthony's Feast was held on Sunday, August 25, 2013, featuring a 10-hour journey through the streets of Boston's North End. Starting with the emergence of the St. Anthony statue on Endicott Street, there were several bands on hand to celebrate this time honored tradition for the "Feast of all Feasts." Bringing many to tears, the religious walk through the streets of the North End brought out families, friends and visitors to make devotions to Saint Anthony Di Padua Da Montefalcione. At several points in the procession, confetti filled the air as society members carried the St. Anthony statue led by multiple color guards and banners. As you can see in the video, the statue is getting filled with dozens of money ribbons. As night falls, it is time to head back to the feast for the big finale where thousands of feast goers and devotees gathered at the intersection of Endicott and N. Margin Streets to see the statue of Saint Anthony return home. After 10 hours, the carriers have endured a grueling, but inspiring, procession through the streets of the North End back to the heart of the feast where confetti rains from the sky. On the day after the St. Anthony's Feast, the ladies from the St. Lucy's Society hold the feast and procession in honor of Santa Lucia. The night procession ended with fireworks.
