Travis Terry - Echoes of the Canyon Wall (2001) [Full Album HQ] {Global Music/Instrumental Flute}

Описание к видео Travis Terry - Echoes of the Canyon Wall (2001) [Full Album HQ] {Global Music/Instrumental Flute}

I don't usually listen to albums with mainly a single instrument being played, but this rare release really stuck out to me! For a bit of background, Travis Terry has two albums of his masterful flute-playing available on major streaming services, but his earliest releases have previously been only available for purchase on physical media or digital download through the High Spirits website: https://highspirits.com/collections/t.... High Spirits Music is the label of Odell Borg who, according to the High Spirits website, started his first flute workshop in a one-car garage in Solana Beach, California in 1990. His handcrafted native flute store, which became High Spirits Flutes, was later moved to Patagonia, Arizona and now can be found in Oro Valley, just north of Tucson. Travis Terry, using flutes made in the High Spirits shop on this album, conjures up images of the great American West through his soulful playing. If you enjoyed the relaxing, ambient sounds on the new Andre 3000 album, you have to listen to records like this one too, which demonstrate the American Indian/Native roots of much of what we call "new-age" music today.

Travis Terry: Travis is of the Pima Nation in Southern Arizona. He presently resides in Canyon De Chelly, Chinle, Arizona. Being a self taught musician, his inspiration and passion to play the native flute came through listening to his friend, R. Carlos Nakai, whom he has known for many years. Now, Travis too carries on the tradition of past native civilizations by playing his flutes with the echoes ringing through the canyon walls. "Thanks R.C.!"

Odell Borg: Odell is recognized as an international master flute maker. He is also known as a respected flute player. His mission has been to get as many people as possible to play the native flute, that they may discover the same joy and love for this instrument that he has experienced.

Harry Seavey: Harry has been a musician for thirty years. For the past five years, he has devoted his talents to the Native American flute and he has performed throughout the West Coast. His love for teaching has inspired people to learn how to play the flute.
