Experience the cosmos deep in the Adirondack forest. Captured late last month during the new moon at my astro workshop event. Did you know that light (photons) experience no time at all as they travel through space? To observers on earth the light seen here took about 26,000 years to travel from the galaxy core to my camera sensor. However, from a photon’s perspective it is instantaneously at my camera sensor the same moment it leaves the galaxy core! It experiences no time…for it time is frozen 🌌.

This timelapse was captured using a 24mm lens along with an astro modified Sony A7IV camera that allows you to see more from the nebula’s hydrogen alpha emissions. The system also has a special heat reduction system installed to reduce thermal noise. Post processed using the powerful LRTimelapse software.
