The First Battle of Geonosis, known most commonly as simply the Battle of Geonosis, was the first battle between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic in the conflict that would become known as the Clone Wars. It would be the first major combat of the Grand Army of the Republic, as well as the first major battle the Jedi would fight in years.

The later stages of the ground combat saw major action near the spires, where the droids held the line against the Republic forces as the Seperatists tried to flee in Techno-Union ships. Although the major leaders, namely Count Dooku and Viceroy Nute Gunray managed to escape, the last 3 Techno-Union ships were eventually destroyed by AT-TE, as the Clone Army led by Jedi Master Mace Windu took control of the spire area, claiming a major victory that led to the start of the Clone Wars.
