Today I'm sharing my vision on how to implement Virtual- and Augmented Reality tech for fashion & merchandise related purposes.

My Virtual Rico Verhoeven character finally has some clothing to keep him warm - actually he's wearing pieces of Rico's existing clothing line, sewed and sculpted in 3D software. The sneakers are 3D meshes based on a design by Kai Otoko.

My visions for this setup? Imagine having a brand activation session in your living room, hosted by Instagram, having a celebrity (or any humanoid) avatar show a new collection of clothing and/or merchandise. And you having the ability to actually try in on and buy it through one of Instagram's filters.

Or - like The Diigitals ( https://lnkd.in/e8Qr6N7) - have a Virtual Being model for fashion shoots or ads/commercials. Replacing real life fashion models and studio's ....

Having the knowledge to 3D sculpt fashion items manually has big advantages compared to 3D scanned clothing - most important one is the ability to create any design thinkable without the need of a physical item to scan.
