Guest editor Gary Craig introduces the latest Special Issue from Social Policy and Society: 'Race', Learning and Teaching in Social Policy in Higher Education.

The eight articles and three case studies featured within the Special Issue explore the role and absence of ‘race’ within social policy teaching in higher education. Accompanied by an introduction from the guest-editors and some useful sources, the research includes work from across social policy teaching in the UK, the US, Hungary and New Zealand/Aotearoa, covering topics such as BAME participation in higher education and current institutional biases, as well as suggestions for and examples of decolonising the curriculum and tackling biases within the university setting.
