DJI recently released the V01.01.05.20 firmware update for the Osmo Action 5 Pro, and while many are excited about the new high bitrate mode, there’s another important feature that no one seems to be talking about—optimized stabilization for slow shutter speeds.

In this video, I show how DJI has quietly tweaked the Action 5 Pro’s stabilization algorithm when shooting at slow shutter speeds, and what difference it makes to your footage.

I’ve tested footage before and after the firmware update, and it’s clear that DJI has adjusted how RockSteady handles motion blur. The result? Less jittery, more usable footage without those distracting motion artifacts.
