The landside area of Changi Airport Terminal 3 had several oversized glass elevators — all of them by Hitachi like other, smaller elevators within the same terminal — which connected the arrival and departure halls on levels 1 and 2 with underground parking garages, airport offices (on basement 1), and the retail arcade (on basement 2), with all of them being the size of small freight elevators to be compatible with luggage trolleys. Among them, the particular elevators featured in this video were located next to the platforms for the Skytrain service to the landside area of Terminal 2, at the northernmost end of Terminal 3 landside. These were not machine-room-less installations, probably due to Hitachi's passenger MRL models in late 2000s not having supported capacities above 1,800kg or 3,970 pounds; though the machines, which were basically slowed-down versions of high-speed variants (the reason for using such equipment probably being due to the massive size of the cabs, and due to Hitachi having discontinued the development of geared models by that point), were within glass-enclosed open-top spaces above the shafts and not inside a machine "room." They had DMD-7 buttons with yellow halo, which received a contact-less upgrade some time in 2021. The interface of the E-Motive displays inside the cabs, which doubled as floor indicators, had been updated around that time as well. They ran very smoothly, with efficient leveling.
