Part 3 of my Integrated EPCM management series, specifically focused on what we can do in the Engineering space (related to Project Controls). Sometimes tracking deliverables never quite tells the whole story. Sometimes looking at our schedule never quite tells the whole story. However, when we look at what is possible in an integrated environment with clear access to our schedule, our deliverables, detailed commentary and subtasks - we open up a world where we can really dive into what it means to manage a project.
The added integration in using JIRA to track key tasks, and sub tasks if needed, is where I think we start to smash our industry into the 21st century. Although, again will leave that to others to decide. For now, these are at least ideas and an approach I think our business should be going.
