Dallas F1 Circuit - History, Crashes and Onboard

Описание к видео Dallas F1 Circuit - History, Crashes and Onboard

This race track would never be allowed today!
From the start... In 1984 the F1 calendar took the big circus into a new track in the USA: Dallas. And it was scheduled to be right after the other USA race, the Detroit Grand Prix so… they were trying to sell it big to the Americans with 2 races held in the USA, one after the other. Note that this race was cancelled in 1985 due to financial problems and safety concerns and never came back to the F1 calendar. It was replaced by the Australian Grand Prix in 1985 at the street circuit of Adelaide. Today we are meeting this one-off F1 racing circuit.

It had only one race, the track was bad and dangerous: very narrow, it was desintegrating, surrounded by walls and almost no run-offs... It was run under a scorching heat. But, believe it or not, the only race was amazing and, without any doubt, one of the best of that season!

Martin Brundle had a near career ending crash in practice.

Ayrton Senna had a slight collision with a wall, retired and came up with thew best racing driver crash excuse ever! Full story here -    • Ayrton Senna: 3 unknown stories + rar...
