Along with Zhou Yu, Yue Ying might be the most balanced character in the entire game, with no overpowered tool to abuse, but no crippling weakness to suffer from either. Her square string has a vertical, but when combined with Wind Scroll, is long-range enough to remain safe most of the time. For filling AND freezing, I mainly use Ice Orb C6 + jump cancel, but after I was done recording, I really wondered if it was the best setup.

So here was my thought process: Yue Ying faces the same issue as Xu Huang, having a musou with great 360 long-range hitbox, but considerably low damage. Hence, the natural course of action would be to equip her with Ice Orb so she can freeze an officer before executing her musou, for double damage. However, Yue Ying's C6 is VERY awkward against a blocking officer because of its noticeable pre-charge delay. Even if we can make her recovery safe with jump cancel, attempting another freeze is a long process that involves running around to reposition herself, make sure there are no enemies behind her back, and THEN go through almost the entire square string again.

So that got me thinking: maybe an alternative setup that would work well for Yue Ying is to use the Light Orb instead, and unequip Dragon Arms, instead using Way of Musou to add extra Fire damage to her enemies. Its potential for total damage is of course lower, and without Dragon Arms, Yue Ying now loses a little bit of her flexibility, but her entire offense process should be much more consistent and streamlined.
