Ecosystem Changes and Salmon Survival

Описание к видео Ecosystem Changes and Salmon Survival

The Pacific Salmon Foundation’s Salish Sea Marine Survival Project is a five-year research and restoration project targeted at bringing back lost Coho and Chinook stocks in the Strait of Georgia.

Between 1993 – 95, these stocks mysteriously plummeted by 90%. The Project includes 33 sub-projects engaging 30 different partners examining all interacting factors that could be killing salmon.

Research manager Marc Trudel discusses how changes to the ecosystem and the foodchain could be impacting salmon abundance, including some new findings that have surfaced from recent research.
