I'm at the piano, now what?! The Major Scale Part 2

Описание к видео I'm at the piano, now what?! The Major Scale Part 2

This video was created to help students with harmony. This is NOT a video to teach single hand scale fingerings.

In my experience, there are two main components of learning the scales, the pitches and scale degrees, and the fingering for the individual hands (or the physical playing on your instrument).

Sometimes, when a student is learning fingering for a single hand, the keys/notes get forgotten when fingers are changed.

Because this video is about pitch and scale degrees, I simplified it by having my students place the 4th finger on each hand an octave apart on the keys they are playing. For example, 4th fingers on C an octave apart, or 4th fingers on E flat and octave apart.

Understanding major scale degrees is a jumping off point for 7th chords, any of the modes, the blues scale and transposition.

Take your time in learning it. Play the major scale in all 12 keys. Go up, go down, hand over hand, different rhythms etc.

The scale card can be found at https://www.pianokeyfinders.com/produ...
