In 1 Peter 5, we’re reminded of the vital importance of humbling ourselves before God and casting all our anxieties on Him. Verse 6 encourages us: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” Dependence on God begins with humility—recognizing that we are not self-sufficient and that true strength comes from surrender.

This message unpacks how pride can subtly distance us from God, while trust and reliance draw us closer. As verse 7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” We’ll explore how God’s care is not passive but deeply involved in our lives, offering peace in uncertainty and strength in weakness.

You’ll also discover how spiritual alertness and resisting the devil are deeply tied to depending on God's grace. In times of suffering or hardship, it is God's power and love that will “restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5.10).
