Here's a short summary of how to insert a drop cap into your document:

Place your cursor where you want your drop cap to appear. Click Insert - Drawing - New. Select the Actions button - Word Art. Now enter the letter you want to use. Edit the font style, size, color to your liking. You can also change the border/fill color as well. Resize it as needed. Save and close. Select the letter by clicking and choose " wrap text".
