GoPro 9 vs GoPro 8 Side by side low light video comparison showing you footage from sunsets, sunrises, evenings and night. So which camera is better ? GoPro Hero 9 Black has a new sensor so lets put it to a low light test.

In my oppinion GoPro 9 has a much brighter image thanks to a new sensor, the darker parts of the image are not as dark as on the Hero 8 Black and sometimes in certain situations the blacks on the Hero 8 were crashed with no information and details in there.
I also noticed that Hero 8 Black has a little bit more saturation, the colours are a bit more vibrant wheras colours on the GoPro Hero 9 black are more neutral so in a way Hero 9 has a little accurate colour represantation of how really these shots looked like i guess, though I must admit I prefer that colourful look from GoPro 8 personally.
I also noticed that even though in most of the cases White balance is relatively the same among these cameras there were some couple of shots where Hero 8 leaned more towards warmer colours giving a more reds,orange and pink colour in the footage whereas gopro9 at times leaned to more colder tones with blue and teal but once again in most of the cases it almost identical and those small little differences are not so significant, i would say its more about contrast and saturation than it is about the white balance.

So overall it all comes down to a personal preference which image quality you like the most, as both of these cameras perform similar. Once again Hero 8 has more contrast and more saturation and Hero 9 has overall brighter image with less saturation. Once again these videos were shot with GoPro Colour profile, so if you want to edit your videos then it gonna give you even better results
