STORYLINE:
Swedish police appeared to arrest a few protesters who had joined a pro-Palestinian rally outside the arena in Malmo which was hosting the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday.

Though Eurovision's motto is “united by music,” this year’s event has proven divisive.

Israel's participation has attracted large pro-Palestinian demonstrations, with protesters saying the country should be excluded because of its conduct in the war in the Gaza Strip.

After a larger protest in Sweden's host city earlier in the day, a smaller crowd carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans gathered outside the venue close to the start of the final.

Footage showed police moving in to shift the demonstrators, before a few of them were detained by officers.
