Keep Yourselves

In the closing portion of his letter, Jude urges believers to contend for the faith and “keep yourselves in the love of God.” Alistair Begg reminds us that the best way we can contend for “The Faith,” is with a transformed life, guarding against both fearfulness and contentiousness. As we “keep ourselves,” the work is not isolated, rather it is an exhortation to gather regularly for worship where we hear from God’s word and engage with fellow believers. It is a call to steadfast prayer and a hopeful anticipation of Christ’s return, trusting that the One who loves us and brings us into his family keeps us, even as we keep ourselves.
