WGN Chicago broadcast their very first Chicago Cubs baseball game in 1948. For decades WGN broadcast Cubs games to Chicagoland and the country by way of their superstation WGN America. Along the way they picked up rights to Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox games, continuing a strong tradition of sports television on Channel 9.

As TV rights became more expensive WGN was priced out of the game, and eventually all of the contracts expired. The last Chicago Cubs home game on WGN aired on September 21st, 2019. This is a view from inside the truck as the last game came to a close.
