One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby says there needs to be a “change” to MPs' communication budgets after over $12 million was spent on printing in six months.

Between July and December 2022, taxpayers footed a $12.4 million bill for politicians in mail outs, newsletters and other commonly printed materials.

“There needs to be a change to the way in which communication budgets are actually spent,” Mr Ashby told Sky News Australia in response.

“Lower house MPs are able to spend it on a broader range of things including radio advertising, print, postage.

“Some of these things have gotten extraordinarily expensive.”
