Palavras da Consagração - Rito Maronita.

A língua litúrgica dos maronitas, como já falamos, é o siríaco ou siro-aramaico, isto é, o mesmo idioma que falou Jesus Cristo e que lhe serviu na Ultima Ceia para a instituição da Sagrada Eucaristia. A Liturgia Maronita conserva essas palavras da consagração e independente da língua utilizada durante toda missa, mantém as palavras da instituição da eucaristia sempre em aramaico.

Uma tradução possível seria:

Consagração do Pão:

"E, naquele dia em que antecipou a sua paixão que deu a vida, Tomou o pão nas suas mãos santas, abençoou e santificou, e partiu e deu aos seus discípulos dizendo:
TOMAI E COMEI DISTO TODOS
ESTE É O MEU CORPO
QUE POR VÓS E POR MUITOS
É PARTIDO E DADO
PARA O PERDÃO DOS PECADOS E A VIDA
PELOS SÉCULOS DOS SÉCULOS."

Consagração do Vinho:

"Do mesmo modo, tomou o cálice misturado de vinho e de água, abençoou e santificou, e deu aos seus discípulos dizendo:
TOMAI E BEBEI DISTO TODOS
ESTE É O MEU SANGUE
DA NOVA ALIANÇA
QUE POR VÓS E POR MUITOS
É DERRAMADO E DADO

The liturgical language of the Maronites, as already mentioned, is the Syriac or Syro-Aramaic, ie, the same language that Jesus Christ spoke and that he used at the Last Supper to the institution of the Holy Eucharist. The Maronite Liturgy retains these words of consecration, independent of the language used throughout the Mass, keeps the words of the institution of the Eucharist always in Aramaic.

One possible translation would be:

Consecration of the Bread:

On the day before his life-giving passion,
Jesus took bread in his holy hands.
He blessed,
sanctified,
broke,
and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take and eat it, all of you:
This is my body
which is broken and delivered for you and for many,
for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Cong: Amen.

Consecration of the wine:

Likewise he blessed the cup of wine mixed with water,
sanctified,
and gave it to his disciples, saying:
Take and drink from it, all of you:
This is my blood of the new covenant,
which is shed and handed over for you and for many,
for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
