This is the 'lost in the wilderness' battery test for the NITECORE EDC35. If you are out at night unexpectedly and get lost or seriously off the correct path, can you make your way across difficult terrain with only your EDC light?

I've done this test for a number of lights and it generally involves a mix of (Medium/High) outputs or single output, which is most often High. How long can you get an acceptable output level for making your way across territory and downrange situational awareness? This is different from the ANSI/FL-1 run time and is almost always much less.

This exercise is also different from the run-to-depletion test I did with the EDC33 where there was a very strict record of times to various battery levels and all the step-downs until complete battery exhaustion.

The test is also designed to see how temperature extremes might have an effect on run time. This particular test was performed at the LBJ Grasslands outside of Decatur Texas, with temperatures (on average) only a few degrees above freezing. The light was run constantly at High output level.
