Higa's S O S , Holsinger's Fly Shop

Higa's S.O.S. is an older pattern now which I think is one of the best patterns out there for matching the profile of a mayfly nymph. The minimalist approach to this fly keeps the body thing and streamlined just like the real insect. Like a lot of the patterns I like to tie this is definitely one that can be tied in multiple colors to match the hatch but you won't go wrong with black because a lot of the mayfly nymphs are darker mottled colors.
