Arctic ice is melting, Russian submarines are more active and more advanced than at any point since the 1980s, and hybrid warfare threats to undersea cables and energy infrastructure are escalating.

At the same time, NATO is scrambling to rebuild the anti-submarine capabilities it allowed to atrophy for two decades — deploying P-8s, unmanned underwater systems and warships into one of the most strategically sensitive corridors on the planet.
