The add value of remote work:
Hey folks, welcome to the show copy with the ciso. My name is Rico D, and I'm your host. Okay, so today we're talking about cyber culture and add value of being remote. Okay, so some CISOs may agree with me that I have met a couple of CISOs over the past week saying that, Hey, we need to be back in the office and here's why.
I, I kind of agree with you and I kind of don't, right? It's a new way of the technology. We are remote. Everyone's remote. Now we're playing on a global scale, so remove the argument of trying to go back to the office. You can go back to the office, do whatever you want. However, there are times and places where you have to go back to the office for team building exercises, executive board meetings, quarterly meetings and whatnot.
But there's nothing wrong with being remote and creating a positive cyber culture. Give your employee the deliverability, Hey, I want these by 11:00 PM or 11:00 AM. And this is what I wanna see in them. The vulnerability report, de-deuped, and also which ones applied to us and whatnot. Okay. So try that from perspective and do not micromanage it.
And you'll see that empowering our employees and our staff members and our colleagues and our executive board to have that ability to be remotely, to work aware how they want and however they want, right? With those pajama. Or whatever. It's okay. We can add the value of the cyber culture. We, as executive leaders, we as CISO have to remove our egos and say, okay, here are the things that I expect.
Can you deliver? Now let's talk about when they don't deliver. This is a tough one. You can bring it back. You can say, Hey, I need you to be in the office for X, Y, and Z days, blah, blah, blah. You know, just be reasonable about it. And if you see a different performance, then you have basis of merit to start putting more requirements for productivity.
I totally get, I totally understand. And the reality situation is that there is a. A doing remote work across the globe. I hope this helps. Enjoy the show. Rock and roll.
