Jaguar XJR-15 Race Car V12 Engine Warm Up & Sound in action during 2022 Festival of Speed!

Here's a brief video about a very rare Jaguar XJR-15 race car I recorded during the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The XJR-15 was produced by JaguarSport, a joint venture between Jaguar Cars and TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) created to produce high performance sports cars, from 1990 to 1992.

Tom Walkinshaw conceived the concept in 1988 intended to be a better alternative to the XJ220. Following Jaguar's success at Le Mans, he enlisted designer Peter Stevens to develop a road-going version of the XJR-9. The XJR-15 was powered by a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated Jaguar V12 engine able to produce around 450 hp. The standard transmission was an unsynchronised six-speed manual gearbox while a five-speed, synchromesh transmission was also available as an optional extra. The final weight amounted to be 1,050 kg. The XJR-15 had a planned production run of 50 examples.

A limited number of XJR-15s were built specifically to compete in the 1991 Jaguar Sport Intercontinental Challenge, a three-race competition held throughout the year as a support event for the 1991 Formula One Grand Prix at Monaco, Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps. 16 cars were entered in each event. The winners of the first two rounds were awarded with a pair of Jaguar XJR-S road cars whilst the winner of the third and final race, Armin Hahne, was awarded a cash prize of US$1 million.

The car in this video is managed by Jaguar's specialists Don Law Racing and for the occasion it was driven by Armin Hahne.
