The main purpose of observing Mawlid al-Nabi is to remember the great ideals, teachings, and contributions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to humanity. He guided people from the Age of Ignorance to the path of light, establishing peace and justice in society. His life serves as a brilliant example for all of mankind.
This day inspires Muslims to follow his Sunnah (practices). Many Muslims spend the day reciting the Quran, offering voluntary prayers (nafl), and giving charity. However, there are some differing views among scholars regarding how the day should be observed. One group believes it should be celebrated with joy and festivities, while another argues that since it is also the day of his passing, it should be observed with solemnity and respect, without excessive celebration.
Ultimately, Mawlid al-Nabi is a day for self-reflection for the Muslim community, when they strive to align their lives with the ideals of the Prophet (PBUH).
