Usually, Nest low batteries are caused by your HVAC system not putting out enough power, or by an issue with your HVAC system that has cut off the power supply to the Nest Thermostat. A Nest low power issue can also be caused if your Nest has sat in the box for an extended period of time.

Try these easy steps below which should help restore power to your Nest Thermostat

#1 - Remove the Nest Thermostat base from your wall. On the back, there is a charging port. Either a micro USB, Mini USB or possibly Type C depending on what generation of Nest you have. Connect the base to power and let it charge for 8-10 hours. Re-connect your Nest base to the wall and see if this resolves the problem. If not, proceed to tip #2

#2 - Try flipping your circuit breaker and see if this restores power to your Nest Thermostat. If not, proceed to tip #3

#3 - Make sure the Red Power wire is properly and fully connected to your Nest as see in the video. Ensure power is being delivered. If not, it is possible your HVAC system blew a fuse and is no not supplying power to your Nest. Locate the fuse and replace if needed. If this does not resolve the problem, proceed to tip #4

#4 - Run a common 24v wire to your Nest and connect it to port "C" on the Nest system. This will allow constant power to your Nest base even if the red power wire is not supplying power as it should be.
