Restrictive Practices: myth busting

Описание к видео Restrictive Practices: myth busting

The Commission is keen to have a conversation to bust some “myths” and misconceptions in the sector about restrictive practices. To minimise the widespread use of restrictive practices, supporting legislative requirements have undergone a range of comprehensive changes. We are aware that these changes may have caused confusion and a reluctance to implement some restrictive measures even when there is a potential benefit to the people in your care.

In this webinar we unpacked some of these myths to ensure that, as providers and clinical caregivers, you have a clearer understanding and approach to the use of restrictive practices.

The webinar focused on the use of seclusion, environmental restraint, mechanical restraint, and physical restraint.

The Commission is here to support and assist providers to provide care that is consistent with the legislative requirements and quality of care principles, and will improve the quality of life for the people they care for.
