The music for "Carol of the Bells" also known as "The Ukrainian Bell Carol" was written in 1914 but the English lyrics weren't put to the music until 1936. Imagine all of those years they could have been singing "Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding DOOOONG" and weren't... because those words didn't exist. What if you could time travel to 1914 and sing along with the music, "hark how the bells... sweet silver bells... EVERYONE, YOU KNOW THE WORDS!" People would be looking at you like you had just stepped on Santa's beard. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
