Playing for Keeps: Novel Concepts for Carbon Sequestration

Описание к видео Playing for Keeps: Novel Concepts for Carbon Sequestration

Speaker: Alex Bump

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a key technology for climate change mitigation that relies on geologic reservoirs to permanently sequester CO2 rather than venting it into the atmosphere. Experience with oil and gas proves the ability of geologic reservoirs, traps and seals to retain bouyant fluids on long timescales. Those same goals, constraints and boundary conditions conspire to create a very different view of what "good" looks like. This talk with explore the landscape for CCS on the Gulf Coast, drawing on novel play concepts such as Fetch Trap Pairs, Pressure Space and Composite Confinement.
