In this video I present a simplified method to draw Robert Edward Grant's novel pentagon construction that uses no measurements. His method is one of many ways to construct a pentagon with 100% accuracy, although a unique feature of his construction is that it uses a 1x2 rectangle in the process. An instagram post of his showed the steps he used. However, the construction seemed to leave many important drawing techniques out as it relied on Geogebra's parallel line feature to locate many of the key intersections. This makes his drawing difficult to reproduce with the traditional tools of a Geometer using an unmarked straight edge and compass.

So, in this video I use Geogebra to show how Robert's construction was done, and then I show a simplified version using a Knew pentagon construction that I discovered previously (2023). It turns out that the diagram I share also easily produced the 1x2 rectangle of Robert's Drawing. The techniques I shared can be easily drawn as it is found in the simple Seed of Life pattern, so I encourage you to give it a try as I walk through the steps. Thank you Robert, for sharing your technique and offering some inspiration for me to find the 1x2 rectangle in the diagram I previously created.
