IMO는 10일~17일 개최된 MEPC 76차 회의에서 해양오염방지협약(MAPOL) 개정안을 채택하면서 기술적 조치인 에너지효율지수(EEXI, Energy Efficiency eXisting Ship Index)와 운항적 조치인 탄소집약도(CII, Carbon Intensity Indicator) 도입을 결의하였습니다.

선사들은 2023년 1월부터 시행 예정인 현존선에 대한 이러한 온실가스 규제를 충족하기 위해 다양한 대응책을 마련해야 할 것으로 판단됩니다. 이에 한국선급에서는 엄격해진 IMO의 탈탄소화 규제에 대한 선사의 이해를 돕고자 총 6편의 영상으로 아래와 같이 제작하였습니다.
